Obtaining of FSC® Forest Certification and CoC Certification

    What is FSC® Forest Certification?

FSC® was established in 1994 as a membership-based non-profitable organization having 1,127 members in 90 nations across the world. In accordance with the standards of FSC, independent third-party institutions certified by FSC evaluate the activities and other related matters of organizations that manage forests.
The forest areas certified by FSC have currently reached 200,781,613 ha across the globe (as of January 2019).
The forest certification can be interpreted as a new effort to “protect the forest while using wood.”
The FSC forest certification system consists of two systems.

    Environmental Guidelines

OZAX CORPORATION stipulates here the following environmental guidelines shown below in order for us to work toward global environmental conservation as a trading company specializing in paper products and commodities for living.

    1. 1) Certification of Forest Management (Forest Management - FM Certification)
The FM certification targets forest management, which certifies that forest management is properly implemented in an environmental sense, serving social interest, and that forests are properly managed.
    2. 2) Certification of Management for Processing and Logistics Processes (Chain of Custody - CoC Certification)
The CoC certification targets processing and logistics, which certifies whether wood cut down from a certified forest is properly managed without being mixed with other wooden materials also during the phases of processing and logistics.
The expression “Chain of Custody” means a “cycle of management.” This is an uninterrupted path from the forest until products reach the consumers, which includes all phases of production, processing, and logistics.

    Environmental Project

This project is tasked with studying the potential of an environmental business as a key new business in the company’s long-term management plan and to identifying how that business can be pursued in the future.
